Microsoft announces Skype Retirement!

Sad day for Microsoft, the once famous Skype will be shut down on the 5th of May and will now move to its homegrown Teams platform, which became the company’s focus around the time of the pandemic. We at RLV Pro, believe the mistake in Microsoft's strategy was focusing its marketing efforts on a new Video Conferencing Platform (Microsoft Teams) instead of further developing and upgrading Skype which has held it's place in the Market for 21 years and has become synonymous with video calling that it became a verb in its own right; to ‘Skype’ someone.

Why shut it down? It already had the branding and why waste money on another product that is practically the same as the other???
